New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, more commonly known as Jazz Fest, is arguably the biggest and best festival of the year in New Orleans. It is seven full days filled with performances from world-renowned musicians like Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Maroon 5, Snoop Dogg, Alabama Shakes, and Pitbull to name just a few. This year New Orleans’ honored its deep historical connections with Cuba by hosting one of the largest celebrations of Cuban culture in the U.S. since the 1950s.
Festival goers looking for the ultimate cuban experiences were welcomed with open arms. The heart of the Cuban celebration was at the Cultural Exchange Pavilion, where stage Septeto Nacional Ignacio Piñeiro, Telmary y Habana Sana, Grupo Caury, Conga Los Hoyos, and The Pedrito Martinez Group on the first weekend; and Septeto Santiaguero, Daymé Arocena, Adonis y Osain del Monte, Changüí Guantánamo, Conga Los Hoyos, The Pedrito Martinez Rumba Project featuring Roman Diaz, Los Van Van and many more.
